Spanish Short Story Reading Club (Remote)

Do you want to practice your Spanish by reading, but a book is too long or too much of a time commitment? What about one short story per week? If that sounds more appealing to you, join us for our one-short-story-a-week reading club in Spanish. We will meet weekly online to talk about a short story, including themes, vocabulary phrases, grammatical structures, and much more.

We will read one story a week and stories will be provided upon enrollment for each 4-week session. Stories are written in Spanish. Different literature genres will be used to accommodate all styles and interests. This course is designed for intermediate Spanish language learners who have completed either a Spanish II or Spanish III course or course equivalency.

Sessions –  Spring 2024

This reading club meets remotely on Tuesdays from 5:30-7pm. Each month-long session will meet on the first four Tuesdays of the month on Google Meet. You are welcome to sign up for the Spanish Short Story Reading Club for the April, May or June sessions — or all 3!  You do not need to take these sessions in sequence and please be sure to register in advance.  Scroll below to sign up!

April Session: April 2, 9, 16 and 23

May Session: May 17, 14, 21, and 28

Silvi Galmozzi
Silvi GalmozziInstructor —Spanish
I was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Spanish was the language I spoke at home with my family, and later became an important language for my career. Since moving to Bend, I have found a new and exciting career path as a medical interpreter and language teacher. When I am not at Bend Language Institute, I am teaching Spanish in local middle schools and through the COCC continuing education program. I also enjoy teaching courses in nonverbal communications at a local studio. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, baking, and kayaking with my husband in our beautiful lakes around Central Oregon.
