German Conversation

Willkommen zurück! Build confidence and fluency in spoken German in this engaging course that is designed for students with a solid foundation in German. We will focus on developing practical communication skills through guided conversation and interactive activities, expanding your vocabulary, improving your accuracy and speaking with greater ease. Come, be part of the course and communicate more naturally in German!

Sessions – Summer 2026

Class Cancellation Policy & Refunds

A full course credit or refund can be requested prior to one week before the start of the course or workshop. If a student requests a refund, they will be charged a $30 fee. Students can request a 50% refund up until the end of the second week of classes for a 8-week course, and they will not be charged an additional fee. We cannot issue any refunds after this period.

Meet Your Instructor

Doris Kunselman
Doris Kunselman—German and French Instructor
Doris Kunselman – German and French Instructor
I grew up in a multicultural environment in Germany and had the privilege of traveling extensively throughout Europe. I view learning another language as an empowering process and a gateway to new worlds. During high school, I spent a year in Montréal, Canada, to pursue my then-favorite language, French. Soon after, I met and married an Oregonian, and English became my primary language of study. I went on to graduate from Goethe University in Frankfurt with a teaching degree in English and music education. I consider myself a passionate educator with 13 years of experience teaching in the German public school system.
Since relocating my family to Redmond in 2022, I have wholeheartedly embraced life in Central Oregon. You can find me enjoying the outdoors, reading, cooking, working out at the gym, sitting at the piano, singing on stage, or driving my teenage sons to their activities. I am excited to bring my enthusiasm for European languages and cultures to the Bend Language Institute and to support you in reaching your language learning goals!
