Introductory French I

Introductory French I is designed for people who are new to the French language. In this course we will learn the basics of the French language. We will cover fundamentals of sentence structure, vocabulary of food, hobbies, weather, as well as simple conversations for daily situations. You will also be introduced to basic French grammar and verb conjugations. Whether you are planning a trip or would like to learn something new for the fun of it, join us in this casual atmosphere.

Sessions – Spring 2025

Introductory French I will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10-11am from April 7 – June 2 at our institute. We will not hold class on Memorial Day. This course is limited to 10 people so please sign up in advance.

Class Cancellation Policy & Refunds

A full course credit or refund can be requested prior to one week before the start of the course or workshop. If a student requests a refund, they will be charged a $30 fee. Students can request a 50% refund up until the end of the second week of classes for a 8-week course, and they will not be charged an additional fee. We cannot issue any refunds after this period.

Bonjour! I grew up in Exeter, New Hampshire and went on to earn a BA in French from UNH, spending my junior year at the University of Dijon in France. After 25 years of teaching high school, college and adult courses in New England, my husband and I moved to Southern California, where I continued to teach French to predominantly Spanish speakers. Throughout my career, I often traveled to France with my students and family so that they could experience and appreciate the beauty of French culture and language. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion for all things French with my new students at Bend Language Institute!
