Advanced Intermediate French

This course is designed for those who want to improve their conversational skills while practicing different tenses. Through lively discussions, interactive activities, and practical exercises, you’ll strengthen your ability to express ideas naturally and confidently in French. We’ll focus on using a variety of tenses in real-life contexts, helping you refine your fluency and accuracy while expanding your vocabulary. Each session will provide opportunities to speak, listen, and engage with authentic materials, so you can build confidence and flexibility in your communication. This course is ideal for students with a solid understanding of imparfait and passé composé, object pronouns, and futur and conditionnel.

Sessions – Spring 2026

This course will meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 4:10-5:10pm from April 13 – June 4. We will not meet on Monday, May 25 for Memorial Day. Please email bendlanguageinstitute@gmail.com or give us a call at 541-728-3022 if you have any questions. We will be happy to give you a free language level assessment to help find the course that best fits your needs.

Class Cancellation Policy & Refunds

A full course credit or refund can be requested prior to one week before the start of the course or workshop. If a student requests a refund, they will be charged a $30 fee. Students can request a 50% refund up until the end of the second week of classes for a 6 or 8-week course, and they will not be charged an additional fee. We cannot issue any refunds after this period.

Catherine Leavitt Instructor —French
As a teacher, I love being part of my young students’ lives to instill confidence and find ways to help them engage in their own learning. I also have enjoyed teaching adults because we often share the same motivation to be lifelong learners.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, and listening to my adult/teen children share their various world changing ideas; they say it is their French heritage that makes them good at arguing! Some of my other pursuits are piano, fitness/nutrition coaching and rock climbing. I am very much looking forward to meeting new students and have fun learning.
