French IV Regions of France

Each week we will learn about the history of a region in France to discuss the region’s historical and geographic sites, the people’s cuisine, common places to visit and things to do, as well as our own past experiences in the region – all in the French language! The goal of this course is to converse more fluently about everyday activities, articles, plans, and more. This course is designed for students who can speak in the present, passé composé, imparfait, and futur tenses. We will continue to practice these grammatical forms, as well as expand our knowledge by learning to be more comfortable with the conditionnel, subjonctif and imperatif.

Sessions – Summer 2025

French IV Regions of France will on Mondays from 3-4:30pm from July 7 – August 25 at our institute. We will not meet on August 11. We will not hold class on Memorial Day. Please be sure to register in advance as space is limited. Class Cancellation Policy & Refunds

A full course credit or refund can be requested prior to one week before the start of the course or workshop. If a student requests a refund, they will be charged a $30 fee. Students can request a 50% refund up until the end of the second week of classes for this course, and they will not be charged an additional fee. We cannot issue any refunds after this period.

Catherine Leavitt
Catherine Leavitt Instructor —French
As a teacher, I love being part of my young students’ lives to instill confidence and find ways to help them engage in their own learning. I also have enjoyed teaching adults because we often share the same motivation to be lifelong learners.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, and listening to my adult/teen children share their various world changing ideas; they say it is their French heritage that makes them good at arguing! Some of my other pursuits are piano, fitness/nutrition coaching and rock climbing. I am very much looking forward to meeting new students and have fun learning.
