Spanish II (Part 2)

Spanish II is for students who have taken the Accelerated Introductory Spanish class, a Spanish introductory class, and for students who feel comfortable with the basics of the Spanish language.  Our goal is to develop oral and written proficiency. By the end of the course you will be able to talk about various topics such as family, travel plans, food, work, and hobbies in the past and the present. The course will also incorporate geographical and culinary insights from the Latin American continent.

Sessions – Summer 2021

For summer 2021, we are offering two Spanish II classes that will meet in the months of July and August. Each course is divided into two parts to meet your language learning needs. These classes will meet at our outdoor classroom and can move indoors in the event of bad weather.  You can take the parts in sequence or only take one course depending on your language level and interest. Early registration discounts are available so please sign up in advance! Please specify which class you would like to register for when you check out below.

M/W Session Part 2 will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:45-7:45pm from August 2 – 25. Please note each class meets for 1 hour. This course is 4 weeks long.

T/R Session Part 1 will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:15-6:45pm from July 27 – August 13. Please note each class meets for 1.5 hours. This course is 3 weeks long.

Armando AlcaldeInstructor —Spanish
I was born in Caracas, Venezuela into a Cuban family. We moved to the USA when I was young and I was raised in an English/Spanish bilingual household. Currently, I reside part time in Spain and part time in Bend, OR.

I have a B.S. in Zoology and an M.S. in Environmental Health Science and work as a environmental scientist/biologist, ski instructor and musician. I teach classes in both Spanish and English in all three disciplines and also tutor Spanish students. I am passionate about sharing the beautiful Spanish language. We will get to know one another, share stories, laugh and develop our language skills in a supportive and fun educational environment.

¡Bienvenidos a todos!
